With degrees in Economic Science and Mechanical Engineering, Annette Abaci initially worked part-time at Mercedes-Benz and EMA GmbH during her academic studies. She continued with EMA GmbH (a milling company specialising in high-precision production parts for Mercedes-Benz) and was promoted to CEO after graduating. Her successful tenure at EMA saw her not only purchase the company in 1993, but also expand the business sevenfold.
Annette then decided to follow her passion for vintage automobiles, selling her company in 2003 and joining a German classic car dealership. Annette later joined RM Auctions’ European office in 2006, where she was integral to the establishment, organisation, and success of RM’s Ferrari, London, Monaco, and Villa d’Este auctions. In 2010, Annette opened RM’s German office where she continued to bring the auction culture to her German homeland.
After gaining 10 years of experience with the world’s most renowned classic car auction house, Annette left RM Auctions at the beginning of 2016 to establish herself as an independent classic car consultant. With offices in Hamburg, Germany and Bath, United Kingdom, she is particularly passionate about German automobiles and specialises in Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Porsche. In addition, Annette has a keen interest in the Jaguar marque and is also knowledgeable about automobiles manufactured in the pre-war to 1950s eras.
Annette continues to build her own personal car collection, including a Brabham BT36, several Jaguar X120s and a 1931 Invicta S-Type. A keen rally participant, Annette has been all over Europe and the world, taking part in some of the most exciting classic car events such as the Mille Miglia, Ennstal Classic, Gaisberg Rennen and the Haka Classic – to name but a few.
